2026 Environmental Health and Sustainability Grants, Rebates and Incentives Program
The city of Aspen Environmental Health and Sustainability (EHS) department has announced the launch of its new grants, rebates, and incentives program that empowers the community to take action on sustainability, health, and climate initiatives.
The funding is designed to provide resources that make it possible for residents, businesses, and property owners to implement practical, meaningful sustainability solutions. The launch of this program comes following six months of development, with available funding reaching over $100,000 to allocate to various grants, rebates, and incentives in multiple sustainability sectors. Community Programs
Apply now for the Commit to Tomorrow Youth Ambassador Grant Program which offers funding for residents ages 24 and under to design and implement a climate-focused project. Applications due by 5 pm on January 26, 2026. Find more information and application on our Youth Ambassador Grant Pilot Program page.
- Apply now for the Colorado Green Business Network of Aspen Mini-Grants which provide small-scale financial support to help CGBNA businesses implement sustainability projects, recognize employee leadership, and expand sustainability education.
Waste Reduction
Free Countertop Compost Containers are available now to everyone for pick up at City Hall. For more information, see our Compost and Organic Waste page.
In mid February, 2026 city of Aspen residents can apply for a $200 discount on an indoor compost machine. More details to come in February.
Air Quality
Free Radon Test Kits - are available for in person pick up at the Community Development office on the first floor of Aspen City Hall, 427 Rio Grande Place. Find more radon information on our Air Quality Programs page.
Radon Mitigation - Beginning March 1, 2026, qualifying APCHA households with a radon test result in the last two years of 4 pCi/L or higher can apply for assistance to help with cost of radon mitigation. Air Purifiers - Beginning May 4, 2026, qualifying APCHA Category 1 and 2 households can apply for a free air purifier. More details to come in May.
Electrification
In spring of 2026, we will offer rebates to landscaping companies transitioning to electric leaf blowers. More rebate details to come this spring. For more information on transitioning to electric lawn equipment, see our Gas Powered Leaf Blower page.
Water Conservation
In spring of 2026, Rebates for irrigation upgrades and turf replacement to reduce outdoor water use will be available to Aspen Water customers (residential and commercial). More rebate details to come this spring. Find more information on our Irrigation Assessment and Rebates page.
