Advocate for Local Environmental Policies

Get involved in local climate action initiatives and advocate for sustainable policies with Aspen City Council or the governing body where you live.

• Email Aspen City Council with comments and ideas.
• Attend an Aspen City Council meeting (2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m.)

Engage with Environmental Organizations 

Volunteer or donate to organizations focused on preserving Aspen’s natural beauty and tackling climate change.

• Local organizations include: Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, Wilderness Workshop, and CORE. Let us know if you have additional organizations to highlight: climate@aspen.gov!

Be a Voicebox for Social Change

Help create a community that protects our planet and promotes climate-friendly lifestyles by sharing information and ideas about climate change with friends/family/colleagues.

• Are you part of a homeowner's association? A parent teacher association? On a organization's board? Advocating in these spaces are ways to amplify your voice and impact. 

Support Green Businesses and Projects

Choose to support businesses that prioritize sustainability, such as those that reduce waste, conserve energy, or offer eco-friendly products.

• Check out the Colorado Green Business Network of Aspen! These are local businesses actively pursuing sustainability and learning from each other.
• Encourage your employer to join the Colorado Green Business Network of Aspen.
  

Learn about State/Federal Climate Leaders and Policies

Ask your state and federal elected officials what they are doing they doing take climate action. Reach out to them and share your ideas around environmental policies and issues.
