Legal Opinions in 2024 and Polling
The city hired Jacobs Engineering to assess the existing Castle Creek Bridge and provide the city with a Colorado Department of Transportation-style bridge evaluation report, including a hands-on inspection of the physical condition of the bridge.
- On July 23, 2024, Council voted to waive attorney client privilege for the release of a legal opinion (PDF) regarding the need for a vote for use of open space for the Entrance to Aspen. Council approved this through Resolution 84, Series 2024 (PDF).
- On August 13, 2024, Council voted to waive attorney client privilege for the release of a legal opinion (PDF) regarding Councilor Guth's participation in decisions related to the Entrance to Aspen. Council approved this through Resolution 96, Series 2023 (PDF).
- Polling: In November 2024, Probolsky Research was selected to conduct opinion research/polling services on the topic of the Entrance to Aspen. The polling took place in November and December. Probolsky Research provided Scientific results and Unbalanced results. For more information, refer to the staff memo from January 21, 2025.
- In December 2024, City Council directed staff to develop a conceptual drawing of the Modified Split Shot. Jacobs Engineering produced the drawing, which is subject to revision and needs additional engineering detail.
