Board Composition, Terms and Qualifications

The Building Code Board of Appeals is a volunteer board consisting of seven regular citizen members. Members are appointed by City Council, each to four year terms. The Board of Appeals also consists of 2 ex-officio members who shall be employees or officers of the City and the Fire Protection District. All members must be qualified electors and residents of the City or County for at least two (2) year prior to appointment.

Overview

The Building Code Board of Appeals considers all appeals from orders of the Chief Building Official and can confirm or modify those decisions. They also advise City Council on building legislation including adoption of new building codes.
