Culture Vibrancy Fellowship Celebration
On May 16, 2024, the City of Aspen (Red Brick Center for the Arts, Wheeler Opera House, and Strategy and Innovation Office) celebrated the inaugural year of the Cultural Vibrancy Fellowship program.
The celebration honored the youth and adult cohorts who participated in the inaugural year of the grant fellowship.
In 2023, Aspen City Council approved a pilot grant program to provide direct support to artists living and working in Aspen to foster the city’s cultural vibrancy. Over the past year, 12 youth artists and 12 adult artists participated in facilitated conversations to discuss how art impacts their lives and creates a vibrant community.
At the event two panel discussions were hosted by program facilitators Art Williams and Eric Elliot. During the panel discussions, the youth and adult participants illustrated what the fellowship has meant to each of them as well as the community impact of this new grant program.
