Public Comment

Aspen City Council members are your neighbors who live, work, and care deeply about the community. They value input from local residents and welcome public participation at every regular meeting as a way to encourage residents to be part of the conversation and help shape the future of Aspen.

Providing public comment at City Council Meetings:

  • Public comment occurs at the beginning of each regular council meeting, immediately following council roll call.
  • Speakers are allotted three a maximum of three minutes.
  • It's encouraged to prepare your remarks and information in advance.
  • Arrive on time to ensure that you don't miss your opportunity to speak.
  • Activate microphone by pressing the button at the base; a green light will indicate that the microphone is on.
  • Please be sure to keep comments respectful and directed toward issues, not individuals.
  • To provide public comment while watching online, log in to the provided zoom link and select the ‘raise hand’ icon when Mayor Richards calls for public comment.
