Single-use bag fee

Single-use plastic bags are prohibited from distribution at applicable businesses in Aspen. In accordance with Colorado House Bill 21-1162 Plastic Pollution Reduction Act, carryout bags in Aspen cost $0.20. 

The City of Aspen repurposes old banners into reusable bags made in Colorado. If you would like to get one, stop by City Hall and choose your favorite one. 

In 2024 we repurposed 875 pounds of banners into reusable bags!
