Press Release
City of Aspen to conduct community survey on Castle Creek Bridge and Entrance to Aspen project
Aspen, CO – The city of Aspen will launch a community survey on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, to gather public input on the future of the Castle Creek Bridge and the broader Entrance to Aspen corridor.
This effort is part of an ongoing project to assess potential improvements and ensure alignment with current community values. The survey will be conducted by Probolsky Research, a firm selected to provide opinion research services on this topic.
All responses are confidential; the city will only see the aggregate results from registered Aspen voters who respond. The results of this survey will inform City Council as it considers whether to include a related question on the March 2025 ballot.
The survey also aims to understand community sentiment regarding community values that may be used in the development of the scope for a new Environmental Impact Statement process. Registered Aspen voters have the opportunity to weigh in on whether the priorities that shaped past decisions are still in line with today’s needs.
The city urges voters to respond within 24 hours of receiving a post card mailer with their individual survey code. Some voters may receive an email, text message or phone call about the survey if they do not respond right away.
Conducted through a multi-mode approach, the survey combines the opportunity for voters to call a toll-free number and participate with a live professional interviewer, or online to ensure their response is captured immediately.
The input from this survey will be used by City Council to determine next steps.
City Council recognizes the importance of community involvement in these decisions. This survey effort reflects the city’s commitment to gathering diverse perspectives and ensuring that scoping for a future federal National Environmental Policy Act process for the entrance corridor considers community priorities.
