City of Aspen hosts community open house for revamped Map Aspen open data site
Aspen, CO – The city of Aspen is excited to announce the relaunch of Map Aspen, the city’s community-focused open data site, with an updated look and enhanced features. This online resource is designed to provide easy access to geospatial data and maps, empowering residents and businesses with information about Aspen.
To celebrate this update, the city of Aspen's Engineering Department invites the community to join an open house on National GIS Day, Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024. This open house event will be held in the Pearl Pass conference room at City Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where attendees can discover the latest developments in GIS technology and its applications within the community.
Community members will be able to view the city’s drone technology, updated imagery, and advanced utility mapping. The event will also include a live demonstration of the new Map Aspen platform by the GIS team to showcase its capabilities and benefits. Refreshments and prizes will be provided to ensure a fun and engaging experience for all attendees.

The newly refreshed Map Aspen site is now live and can be accessed through the GIS | Mapping page on aspen.gov. With its updated interface, users can enjoy a more intuitive experience when exploring the city’s open data offerings. The site hosts new content and functionality, including streamlined access to various GIS apps. If you encounter any difficulties, the city’s team is ready to assist in navigating the new features.
