City of Aspen celebrates bike to work day 204: DriveLess this summer
Aspen, CO - The city of Aspen has announced the 2024 Bike to Work Day on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. This annual event encourages commuters to pedal their way to work, promoting a healthier lifestyle and a cleaner environment.
From 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., cyclists can visit one of three ride-through stations along the bikeway for to-go treats, gifts, bike safety check vouchers from Basalt Bike & Ski, and chances to win gift cards and other prizes. The stations will be located at:
The Red Brick Center for the Arts
Bugsy Barnard Park just off Cemetery Lane
Hopkins and Garmisch by Paepcke Park. Aspen Valley Hospital will provide free helmets while supplies last.
This event is designed for cyclists of all levels, offering a great opportunity to engage with the community and support sustainable transportation.
In addition to biking, there are numerous ways to reduce traffic, lower pollution, and save money this summer. The city encourages community members to consider taking a free shuttle, utilizing the car share program, bike share program, or the Downtowner. Carpool permits are available for groups of two or more adults at the parking kiosk at the Brush Creek Park and Ride.
