Aspen, CO – December 28, 2020 – Electric space heaters are immediately available this evening at the Aspen Police Department offices, 540 East Main Street.

These heaters have been provided by Black Hills Energy to allow for emergency heating for residents effected by the natural gas outage in Aspen.

If you need a space heater, please come to the police department, parking on the north side of Main Street in front of the police department or in parking spaces marked in front of the Concept 600 Building, immediately east of the police department building.

We will do contactless distribution. If you pull up and open your passenger window, we will drop a heater in.

For those who have special needs and are unable to come to the department, please call 970-920-5310 to request a heater. Local police officers will work to get a heater to you as soon as possible.

Please note we have a limited number of heaters available.

Please park in the areas marked in red on the map.

UPDATE: As of December 28, 2020 at 6:30 p.m., the first round of 400 space heaters all have been distributed. We are anticipating 3,600 more that are enroute and will announce when they arrive for pick-up.
