Join Kids First for Parenting Workshops Online

Aspen, CO – October 6, 2020 – The City of Aspen’s Kids First program is hosting a six-session online workshop to help families best support their children’s social and emotional development. The workshops are geared toward parents of children ages 0-8, however, these strategies are appropriate for kids of all ages. The workshops will help families learn skills to promote social emotional development, teach children about their emotions and how to self-regulate, and learn how to address challenging behavior. Class meets via Zoom from 6:30 -8 p.m. every Tuesday (except for Election Day- November 3) beginning October 13. Class topics include:
• October 13 – Making a connection with your child
• October 20 – Encouraging positive behavior
• October 27 – Developing clear expectations
• November 5 – Teaching problem-solving
• November 10 – Promoting positive behavior
• November 17 – Enacting prevention strategies for challenging behaviors
The classes are taught by Kids First credentialed coaches Megan Monaghan and Adley Kent. Cost is $30 with a $25 Amazon gift card thank-you for completion of all classes.
