Art exhibitions debut at the Red Brick Center for the Arts
Aspen, CO— The Red Brick Center for the Arts is excited to announce two art gallery exhibitions on Feb. 6, 2025. The opening will be held at the Red Brick Center for the Arts starting at 5 p.m.
One of these exhibitions will be the Aspen Cultural Vibrancy Fellows Exhibition. In 2024, the city of Aspen introduced the Aspen Cultural Vibrancy Fellowship, which provided financial grants to local artists to foster experimentation, innovation, and growth in their artistic pursuits.
The exhibition will feature the works of the 12 recipient artists, highlighting the diverse artistic expression emerging from Aspen and showcasing a variety of media, including filmmaking, music composition, and both visual and sculptural arts.
Featured artists include Teresa Booth Brown, Kristin Braga Wright, Curt Carpenter, Samuel Harvey, Kevin Kaukl, Tammie Lane, Marilyn Lowey, Nika Meyers, Sandra Prado, Madeleine Scott, Mindy Vernon, and Lara Whitley.
“We are delighted to showcase the incredible works of artists who have been honored with this prestigious recognition from the city of Aspen,” said Sarah Roy, executive director of the Red Brick Center for the Arts. “These talented local creators are the heartbeat of Aspen's dynamic arts and culture scene.
“From performing with Dance Aspen and Aspen Polynesia to composing original scores for High Country Sinfonia, hosting Saturday Market booths filled with unique artworks, inspiring the next generation of artists through teaching, and producing pieces for local galleries, they enrich our community in countless ways. This exhibition celebrates their remarkable contributions and the vibrant cultural tapestry of Aspen.”
Art enthusiasts and the community also will have the opportunity to experience Eric Elliott's show, “Shifting Perspectives,” in the west gallery of the Red Brick. This collection of paintings explores the transformation of everyday objects through impressionism, abstraction, and unique styles. Elliott’s masterful use of light and shadow creates striking visual effects that challenge perceptions and bring each piece to life.
The city invites the entire community to experience locally made art. Come experience both exhibitions and immerse yourself in the creativity and talent that make Aspen’s art scene vibrant. This is a unique opportunity to celebrate local artists, discover new artistic perspectives, and connect with the cultural heartbeat of town.
