City of Aspen launches survey for Wagner Park playground remodel

Aspen, CO – The city of Aspen has launched a survey aimed at gathering input for the remodel of the Wagner Park playground. Wagner Park's playground is a feature of the community. As part of the remodel, the city seeks to address aging infrastructure and enhance the overall play experience.

Wagner Park playground has long been a favorite destination, featuring unique elements such as the swinging hammock, sturdy cast concrete climber/slide, a rope bridge, saddle spinners, and the iconic concrete climbing structure affectionately called "the tooth." Despite its charm, the playground has begun to deteriorate, with the structures experiencing wear and tear that necessitate significant maintenance.

“The current playground has served our community well, but it's time to give it the upgrade it deserves,” said Michael Tunte, landscape architect and construction manager for the city. “We want to ensure Wagner Park continues to be a safe, enjoyable space for everyone, and community feedback will guide this transformation.”

The remodel aims to achieve several benefits, including enhanced playground safety, integrated seating options, and expanded play features that will appeal to a wide variety of ages and abilities.

The city hopes to capture community feedback to ensure the remodeled playground meets the needs and desires of its users. The survey invites members to share their thoughts on potential features and design preferences for the new playground.

The survey can be found on our Aspen Community Voice page: aspencommunityvoice.com/wagner-park-playground-remodel
