City offers free drop-off for skis, snowboards
Old, broken ski equipment can be dropped off at Rio Grande Recycling Center
Aspen, CO – The city of Aspen, in partnership with Colorado Ski Furniture, is collecting skis and snowboards to be recycled until May 31, 2024, at the Rio Grande Recycling Center.
Items accepted for recycling are old and broken skis, snowboards, bindings, and poles. Helmets and boots will not be accepted.
Colorado Ski Furniture will repurpose the equipment into furniture.
Last year, the city of Aspen and Aspen Skiing Co. diverted over 4,000 pounds of ski and snowboard gear from the Pitkin County landfill when they hosted a similar recycling drop-off event in the spring.
