Kids First Childcare Financial Aid application has opened
Aspen, CO - Kids First has made some changes to our childcare financial aid program! Whether or not you’ve applied before, please apply again – we’ve increased the financial support we are able to offer families. The deadline for new applications has been extended to allow families a little more time to submit a complete application - November 1.
We know it’s hard keeping up with all the expenses and we know childcare is costly. Childcare is also expensive to provide, and we all want the best for our young children. The City of Aspen and Kids First is excited to support families and childcare programs with this increased financial aid.
The first step is to try the pre-calculator on our website - https://www.aspen.gov/316/Financial-Aid. You’ll need to provide some information, then find the application packet on the same page; contact us or we’ll be in touch – kf_financial_aid@aspen.gov, or 970-920-5363. If in doubt, you can also talk to your childcare program director about childcare financial aid. Kids First staff and financial aid committee will determine eligibility on a sliding scale based on the overall cost of childcare for your family. For new applications, financial aid will start on December 1, and we will let you and your cc program know the amount you qualify for. If you are already receiving Kids First financial aid, we will make the adjustment for you - you DO NOT need to do anything at this time.
