Contacts:  Bill Linn, City of Aspen Police Department Assistant Chief, 970-274-4103, and Alex Burchetta, Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office Undersheriff, 970-309-2317

Aspen, CO – December 30, 2020 – The Aspen Police Department and Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s help in identifying a person of interest.

A caller to the police department reported seeing a man on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 around 11 am. The man was described as behaving “suspiciously” behind a business in downtown Aspen. The caller took photographs of the person, though they are photos from behind.

Because of the ongoing joint Aspen Police Department / Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office investigation into recent tampering with the natural gas system, we are interested in identifying this person. He is described as mid-40s to early 50s in age, a white male, approximately 5’7”, with grey hair and blue eyes. He is described as at least 160 pounds and muscular. He is clean shaven and may have acne scarring. He was wearing “high end” clothing and was carrying a computer bag on his back. He was not wearing a mask.

Anyone who may have information that could help identify this person, or further information related to the ongoing investigation, please call 970-920-5400. We do accept anonymous information.

Let’s all be good neighbors and watch out for each other.
