City Council Releases Business Information Packet
To Help Local Businesses with Resources and Contacts

ASPEN, CO. – March 25, 2020 – Today, the City of Aspen released a business information packet to all business licensees of the City.  The packet is a resource guide, which also includes a plan for each City Council member to serve as a liaison to a specific industry sector in Aspen.

The purpose of the plan is to support and assist small businesses with the evolving landscape surrounding COVID-19 and to create a channel of communication between the City and its many stakeholders who contribute greatly to the economy of the area.

The liaison list is as follows:
•    Mayor Torre – Restaurants, Transportation, Food Services
•    Ann Mullins – Construction, Development Services, Real Estate, Professional Services
•    Ward Hauenstein – Lodging and Hospitality
•    Rachael Richards – Arts and Non-Profits
•    Skippy Mesirow – Retail and Outdoor Recreation

Mayor Torre said, “We want to do all we can as a Council to share resources with the business community, hear the members’ concerns, and collect the data we need as a City to help empower our recovery efforts.  In addition, this program is about connecting with people one-on-one.  Our businesses are run and staffed by those who make up the fabric of our community and they are critically important to us.”

Mitch Osur, Director of Parking and Downtown services is also a point of contact for all businesses and along with Phillip Supino, Director of Community Development and Ron LeBlanc, Special Projects Manager.  These staff members and City Manager, Sara Ott will make up the team that will be formulating Aspen’s strategy for the economic recovery efforts of COVID-19. The input from the business community will be essential in crafting this strategy.

“We are also working closely with our partners, Aspen Chamber, Pitkin County, and large employers in Aspen to identify ways to help,” said Mitch Osur, Director of Parking and Downtown Services.
