Community Workshop to Gather Input on Future Arts and Culture Needs in Aspen
Thursday, May 30 from 5-6pm at Wheeler Opera House
Aspen, Colorado – May 22, 2019 – The City of Aspen and Wheeler Opera House are conducting a feasibility study to investigate a possible expansion of the Wheeler, associated costs, and what arts and performance needs the community has for such a space. An integral part of the study will entail forecasting demand for different types of performing arts that could be accommodated at the Wheeler and what the community’s desires and needs are.
In order to forecast the demand, the study team is holding the first of several workshops to take public input from individuals in the arts community, arts supporters, and community members on the long-term arts and culture needs of Aspen and Roaring Fork Valley. The goal of the workshop is to get feedback on what the community desires and needs for the future. The workshop will be held Thursday, May 30 from 5-6 p.m. at The Vault at the Wheeler Opera House (2nd floor event space). Please RSVP to: Julie.Gillespie@cityofaspen.com or 970-920-5774. By fall 2019 the study team will identify any expansion and improvement opportunities that will benefit the community, meet demand, and serve the business and performance needs for the Wheeler Opera House into the future.
