Aspen, CO – The city of Aspen Environmental Health and Sustainability department has announced the launch of its new grants, rebates, and incentives program designed to empower the community to take action on sustainability, air quality, and climate initiatives.
The funding is designed to provide resources that make it possible for residents, businesses, and property owners to implement practical, meaningful sustainability solutions in their homes, buildings, and operations.
In 2026, this program will have available funding reaching over $100,000 to allocate to various grants, rebates, and incentives in multiple sustainability sectors including:

  • Rebates for landscaping companies transitioning to electric leaf blowers.
Air quality
  • Radon mitigation grant.
  • Air purifiers for qualifying residents.
Waste reduction
  • Free indoor compost bins to support compliance with the city’s organic waste diversion ordinance.
  • Rebates for self-contained compost mill machines for businesses and multi-family properties.
Water conservation
  • Rebates for irrigation upgrades and turf replacement to reduce outdoor residential water use.
Community programs
  • Support via grants and incentives for local businesses that are part of the Colorado Green Business Network of Aspen.
  • A youth ambassador program grant, offering funding for residents ages 24 and under to design and implement a climate-focused project.
“We’re excited to offer these opportunities that invest in multiple sustainability and air quality sectors,” said Tessa Schreiner, environmental health and sustainability manager. “This program was developed with community feedback and is designed to incentivize action by providing practical resources and support to Aspen's residents and businesses.”
Through this comprehensive program, the city of Aspen is encouraging the community to take steps toward a healthier, more sustainable future while advancing the mission to protect and nurture an equitable, resilient environment. Grant funding will become available throughout the year.
