NEW PERMITTING SYSTEM UPDATE

We are happy to report that we are getting ready to beta test building permits in the new permits management system, Salesforce, and are looking for volunteers to use Salesforce to apply for and manage their upcoming permit applications.  The work scope of permits eligible for consideration includes new construction, alterations, and additions.  If you are interested, please email permitcoordinators@cityofaspen.com and tell us about your project and when you think you will be ready to submit.  We will work with you to ensure that your project is a good fit. 

Additional Training and Support

As we get ready to use Salesforce for more permit types, we are in the process of developing additional support and training opportunities for our customers.  Starting in mid- to late-March, look for more information about in-person and online support as well as Lunch and Learns.

Education week for Building Department Staff

Building Department employees will be attending the annual ICC training classes in Denver March 4-8. This valuable training allows staff to maintain required certifications, learn about code changes, and meet city standards for a highly certified professional department. 
 
All Building Department services are available during this time although permit submittals will be limited and you may experience slight delays in responses from our staff. Building Department staff can be reached at 920-5090 to answer questions and provide assistance. Thank you in advance for your patience.   

Beginning on Friday March 1^st, the Community Development Department will have limited staffing each 1^st Friday in 2019 for staff trainings and education.  Inspection services will be normal on these days and not interrupted.  If you need to see a staff member on a 1^st Friday, please make an appointment in advance, as walk-ins for building and planning will be limited.  Signs will be posted the week leading up to each 1^st Friday to remind customers about limited services available.  Mark your calendars to the first 1^st Friday, March 1^st. (How many ComDevers did it take to come up with that crazy sentence!?!)
