MallFest42: Celebrate the Aspen Pedestrian Mall

The Aspen Pedestrian Mall has been recognized by the American Planning Association (APA) as a 2018 Great Public Space in America. This national designation is awarded to spaces that demonstrate exceptional character, quality, and planning that enrich communities. Completed in 1976, the Aspen Pedestrian Mall is one of the few remaining successful pedestrian malls in the country and continues to be a vibrant space for the community. Please join us on the mall this weekend for MallFest 42 as we celebrate our Great Public Space.

Lift One Corridor Project

In response to a proposed new lift corridor and station, the developers of Lift One Lodge and Gorsuch Haus, in a collaborative effort with Aspen Skiing Company, Aspen Historical Society, and The City of Aspen, have made significant changes to their projects.

The Lift One Lodge and Gorsuch Haus projects will ultimately be considered by the voters of Aspen on a ballot question tentatively scheduled for February of 2019. Until then, the two projects are being reviewed and are on path to be considered together in a public hearing with City Council beginning November 12, 2018.
