Starting July 23, 2018, we will go live with:

Mechanical
Electrical
Plumbing
Permanent Encroachment
Temporary Encroachment

New Permitting System Survey

If you come into our offices, staff responsible for these permits will be available to assist you with the registration process if you need to apply for a permit and your registration process is not yet complete. But please don’t wait to get registered until you want to apply for a permit. We want to get our customers registered as soon as possible.

Lunch and Learn:

We will be hosting a Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, July 24^th, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Council Chambers to introduce you to the new system.

Updates on Planning Information Request and Review Timelines

We want to provide you with an update on the current time needed for the planning office to respond to requests for information and process certain applications. We have been working with reduced staff over the last few months, as well as managing some large projects, all of which have impacted our ability to respond as quickly as is standard. For the time being, if you need information, pre-applications, business license reviews, etc, please note the following timelines for review.

Business license review - 1 week
Pre-applications - 2 weeks
Miscellaneous information requests - 2 weeks
Planner of the day inquiries - 48 hours for initial return of phone call or email; please note that specific information that requires research or additional work may take up to 2 weeks.

In addition, review times for administrative land use cases currently take 4-6 weeks once deemed complete, and at this time all review bodies are booking into September.
