Dolinsek Gardens

The City of Aspen Parks and Open Space Department is conducting construction of Dolinsek Gardens, a new public park, at 619 S. Monarch Street. The Parks and Open Space Construction Team anticipates park construction through the fall of 2022, with project completion occurring in the summer of 2023. 

The following items have been completed:

  • Demolition – Removal of the existing garage, house, and driveway. Monarch Street demolition. 
  • Right of Way Improvements – Right of Way improvements on Monarch St. are substantially complete including utility abandonment and adjustment, sidewalk construction, a mid-block crossing connecting to the future park entrance, and repaving sections of Monarch Street.

Current phases of construction:

  • Park Construction – Construction of phase one of Dolinsek gardens is underway including site preparation, grading, paths, flagstone paving, entry markers, irrigation, and planting. Higher impacts include staging of materials onsite, earthmoving, compacting, cutting, hauling, and heavy equipment operation.
  • End of Construction Season – The site is being prepared for the end of the construction season and winter conditions.
