Our parks, trails, open spaces and playgrounds are open from dawn to dusk.
Aspen Parks offer a diverse range of opportunities for your recreational pleasure, from quiet, contemplative moments at the John Denver Sanctuary to the thrill of watching top-notch volleyball competitions at Koch Park or the Gentlemen of Aspen playing rugby in Wagner Park, and Rio Grande Park. Rio and Wagner are superb venues for many of our world-famous events, such as the Food and Wine Festival, Rotary’s Ducky Derby, or special musical or educational happenings. Visit our downtown Pedestrian Mall for shopping and dining, or enjoy the excitement at our state-of-the-art Rio Grande Skateboard Park. Our over 30 parks and playgrounds are available for everything from picnics, weddings, and reunions to special events such as antique fairs and kids’ carnivals. View a list of parks.
Our parks are maintained by highly trained grounds-maintenance technicians using the most up-to-date cultural practices and equipment. We strive to maintain first-class turf conditions on our seven athletic fields by carefully and deliberately scheduling events in such a way that allows time for the fields to recover. Reservations and schedules for Rotary, Iselin, Upper and Lower Moore Fields, and the high school athletic field can be obtained by calling our Recreation Department at the Red Brick at 970-920-5140.
