Before you make detailed plans to build or remodel, be sure the development you are proposing is allowed (in the case of new development on a parcel) or that the changes you are proposing for an existing developed site are allowed. Land use is governed by the Land Use Code.
To get through the permitting process with minimal delays, you need to submit applications that are complete and compliant with city and state requirements. Find more information on required documents and how to submit them.
City staff are happy to have pre-submittal meetings with you to discuss you project, should you have any questions. A project of any size is likely going to need numerous approvals, and it's easy to miss something.
